Collection: Summer is coming 2021

Summer is coming collection came about through the tough year of 2020, a year all of our lives changed. Some more than others, some grieving, others lonely but we all felt a sense of connection, of being human more than ever. This collection launched in April 2021 and followed from a tough bleak winter with lockdowns and many unable to celebrate Christmas. I was at a place where I needed to look forward to something and for me I feel my best during summer, the colours the smells the heat of the air awakens something in me.

Summer is coming collection was my first large collection of paintings and works on paper. This collection was to celebrate the season of summer and to serve as a reminder that better things were ahead, because at the time there was a universal sense of exhaustion and dread not knowing when our lives would return to β€˜normal’

Inspired from my daily walks throughout the summer of 2020 this collection is a celebration of the English countryside in summer. The magical moments of walking through baking fields listening to birds chirping away and finding the relief shade under a tree. These paintings were created as a reminder in of the beauty around us and the peace we can still find even when the world seems to be changing in a way we cannot control.
